Abstract:Das Fernsehprogramm richtet sich ebenso wie die Website an Kinder im Vorschulalter. Die Figuren Toto, Sassa, König Koos und der Hund Finnie leben gemeinsam in einer Sandburg und erleben verschiedene Abenteuer, die einen Bezug zur Erlebniswelt von Kindern im Zielgruppenalter haben. Dabei geht es darum, die zuschauenden Kinder zu Bewegung und Spielen anzuregen. Auf der Website können die Kinder selbst aktiv werden, z.B. Memory spielen, die Protagonisten der Sendung ausmalen oder ankleiden. The Sand Castle Playing is learning The Sand Castle helps young children (aged 2-4 years) to discover the world. It endourages them to start playing... and helping is learning. Toto, Sassa and King Koos are living together woth Finnie the dog in the Sand Castle. They are enjoying little advetures that are appealing to the children. The three have peculiar noses. If they get sand in their noses, they will dance the "Nose Tickle Dance". Inside the castle, a real and fantasy world alternate. It motivates the young viewers to dance, jump, turn and move around. During and after the viewing, the programme creates moments for playing and learning. The music set "Toet" invites the children to sing along, the pillows on the couch start to move around and a story is being told. There is also a playing field carpet that creates sounds and short films. Child development areas The Sand Castle encourages children to deeper discover one specific theme. The programme invites children to dance along, jump, turn and move. It works with the Pyramid Method that encompasses a combination of play, independent learning and theme work and therefore focuses on all areas of a young child´s develpment. The objectives focus on the following areas of development: - Social-emotional skills - Personality development and life skills - Creative skills - Locomotor and learning skills - Observation skills - Language skills - Learning to think and arithmetic skills - Space and time orientation and getting to knwo the world Themes The themes of each broadcast are closely related to the real life experiences of children. They also support the themes typically used in pre-school methods in playgroups and day-nurseries. In the new series there will be much attention on citizenship and social integration on a young child´s level. Also holidays and celebrations of different social groups in The Netherlands are presented such as Easter and the Ramadan. 
Inhalt:Part 112.: "Rommelebom on my drum" Toto has a good time playing ith his bucket and spade in the sand. Sassa is drumming on her bucket. It is hers! The spade is her drumstick. But Toto also wants a nice drumstick. He can´t find one. King Koos steps out of the castle to ask them for dinner with a spoon in his hand. A stick! shouts Toto. He takes the spoon and starts to drum with it....
