Abstract:This extremely elaborated educational program is organized in particular lessons. Thanks to its concept, it is highly effective not only for first graders, but also for kids in kindergartens and also for schools with special training programs. Following curriculum is included: introducing numbers 1 - 5, development of basic arithmetical conceptions regarding numerical and spatial relations, numeration (assigning certain number to a particular set of articles, displaying the number by a set of articles, comparing, classifying numbers into series, determining order), numerical operations such as addition and subtraction, introducing zero (zero as a result of subtraction), introducing numbers 6 - 10 and numerical operations with these numbers, exercises with frames, introduction to geometry. Objectives - given by the program, students should be able to: - Count up elements of a particular set in the range 0 -10 - Create a particular set with specified amount of elements in the range 0-10 - Classifying numbers into series - Add and subtract numbers in the range 0 - 10 - Solve equations in the defined range - Use addition and subtraction in solving situation of real life - Solve verbal exercises regarding comparing numbers in the defined range - Solve verbal exercises regarding addition and subtraction in the defined range - Orientate themselves in space (right, left, forward, backward) - Distinguish basic geometrical shapes and objects
Inhalt:The course is set into 7 basic parts (chapters): - Numbers 1 - 5 - Counting up to 5 - Counting up to 10 - Geometry - Exercises for the part "Numbers 1 - 5" - Exercises for the part "Counting up to 5" - Exercises for the part "Counting up to 10" Each of these chapters is divided into approx. 8 - 10 sub-parts, to which number of activities is attached. In the first part - "Numbers up to 5" - each number is introduced by a story, which provides certain motivation and helps the children to remember the shape of the particular number; numbers 1 -5 are introduced gradually and are referred to as to amount of objects. Students learn how to match each number with a group of objects; display the number using the objects. The introduction animations help to introduce the new number to a maximum possible extent and are followed by 6 -10 methods of practising the usage of the number. In "Counting up to 5", further numerical exercises take place. The lesson is full of stories from animal life - students use examples of everyday life of animals to compare numbers, add and subtract, learn to class a number into a series. This part also includes the introduction of zero as a result of subtraction. In "Counting up to 10" (similarly as in the previous lesson) students i.e. investigate the snack thief, help the grass snake to pick new garment or help the giraffes with the laundry. Here they discover incorrect results of summations, fill in the right numbers, series, count up the number of objects in the defined range, compare numbers etc. This part also stresses the importance of verbal exercises. In chapter "Geometry", students are introduced to basic terms regarding space and orientation. The main objective of this part is to arouse interest in observing and experimenting with space and shapes. This part also includes the so-called Kim´s memory games and searching for differences in dynamic pictures. The games included are designed to strengthen the children´s memory for shapes, size and completeness of particular wholes. These lessons are topped up by three chapters of exercises, checking students´ understanding of the subject matter and examining their ability to apply acquired knowledge onto situations of real life.
